We’re on the lookout for a proven leader within Financial Planning. This person will work collaboratively with their team to deliver a best in class Management Accounting function that provides the business with the information it needs to meet its strategic objectives and track its progress against its ambitious targets. You will drive change whilst supporting and developing your team to achieve its deliverables within a fast paced and dynamic environment.

The role…

You’ll be leading a talented team to deliver accurate Management Accounts, efficient Financial Planning and effective Financial Controls, supporting the business to help drive profitability.

You will be responsible for the Finance Team’s reliable and accurate delivery of;

* Month End Close – Drive the month end close and reporting cycle to ensure the Board packs are produced accurately, continuously looking to drive change and efficiencies to meet the businesses evolving needs.
* Reporting – Provide daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc financial reporting to the business. Review performance against business plans – budget and forecast.
* Balance Sheet & Reconciliation – Take ownership of relevant balance sheet accounts, ensure adequate controls are in place, reconciliations are performed and reviewed to a high standard within agreed deadlines, and opportunities or risks are highlighted.
* Audit, Tax & Statutory Reporting – Support in the preparation of the annual statutory audit and tax analysis work for the Ann Summers Group. Manage VAT compliance for all AS companies.
* Budgeting – Provide key support in the preparation of the business’s annual budget process, challenging the business to set robust plans that are in accordance with the Business Strategy.
* Forecasting – Provide support in the ongoing preparation and maintenance of the business’s regular forecasting process, identifying risks and opportunities against the annual budget and ensuring these are updated and reported.
* Business Partnering – Hold regular update meetings with trading heads and budget holders to provide financial and technical expertise; identifying risks and opportunities through KPI reporting; provision of decision support; provision of financial support for business cases; query management; analytical reviews
* Relationships – build and develop strong internal working relationships at senior levels across the business to support in reporting and decision making.
* Team – Lead and develop a high performing, happy team that is motivated and engaged with the business.

We’re looking for someone who:

* A qualification in Accountancy with a minimum of 2 years PCE experience
* Is proven in preparation of management accounts including variance analysis and commentary
* Thrives on leading a dynamic team and has a natural flair for inspiring and developing great capability and behaviours
* Is passionate about driving change through a ‘continuous improvement’ mindset
* Has great communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business
* Is confident in presenting, engaging and influencing at all levels
* Has experience in corporation tax, and VAT in a commercial environment – this is ideal, but not essential
