"Working as an Assistant Buyer on the lingerie department I get to do all sorts of fun things; from working on photoshoots, to presenting trends for the season, to attending trade shows in Paris.
Over the past 2 years I’ve been with Ann Summers we’ve been on a progressive and directional journey in terms of our product and brand handwriting. We’ve evolved massively but kept true to our key company ethos to be the sexiest brand on the high street. Pushing boundaries and taking risks can be challenging for a business but our customer’s have really responded to the new handwriting and we’ve had great results on lingerie over the past couple of seasons. We strive to always offer beautiful, ranges that empower women’s confidence whilst being different to the rest of the high street.
My job is very fast-paced and has a diverse set of responsibilities. I love the creativity of my role; product development is one of the biggest things that drew me to buying. Working as an Assistant Buyer on the lingerie department I get to do all sorts of fun things; from working on photoshoots, to presenting trends for the season, to attending trade shows in Paris. However, it can also be a demanding role, making sure deadlines are met and everything’s covered off. Also as the current economy is so turbulent it means this is a crucial time to ensure we understand our customers, are constantly relevant, competitive and are staying one step ahead.
We work really closely across all departments, so I’m constantly in communication with my merchandisers, visual merchandisers, design team, press and marketing, as well as many other departments. Everyday’s different at Ann Summer’s and it really is the team of people I work with that make this company so special. "
