We’re on the hunt for an experienced Shipping Expeditor/Controller to lead and assist Ann Summers with its Inbound Freight strategy. You will actively manage the day-to-day operational performance, coordinating the PO from release to DC arrival, whilst maintaining relationships with our preferred Freight Forwarders. Sustainability is high on our agenda, and we are looking at how we minimise our environmental impact throughout the product and supply chain lifecycles, so will welcome your thoughts on this.

So, what would you be doing?...

* Using industry expertise to identify, implement and continually review best in class Supply Chain tools for freight management from PO creation through to delivery at our Distribution Centre.
* Ability to track and manage PO’s and lead time requirements via the POM and TM systems. Ensuring that any slippages are highlighted to the appropriate function.
* Identify market trends in freight (index-based, timelines, duration, market-specific and global) to identify potential procurement/sourcing opportunities and mitigate risks
* Utilise and develop robust KPI / metrics to meet the required service specifications / agreed cost base whilst providing effective education & support to all parties
* Provide support and advice to internal key stakeholders, become the central point of contact for B&M, Freight Forwarders and Logistics
* Partnering with our Finance department to develop robust and transparent financial tracking and reporting for all inbound freight activities.
* Ensure PO shipment cost information is regularly updated to support the Buying teams to establish landed costs (burden) and margin strategy.
* Make cost-effective decisions on shipments while meeting the needs of the business
* Lead the business strategic priority to significantly reduce our CO2 emissions from all Inbound freight/transport activities
* Support the RFQ process, providing key insights and industry knowledge to support the business obtain optimal rates

* Detailed experience with overseas shipping practices and import/export logistics, with a clear understanding of various shipping terms and requirements.
* Strong international shipping experience.
* Understanding of shipping documents and Customs requirements.
* Freight Forwarding experience.
* Load planning experience.
* Experience working with supplier compliance systems and management of the system.
