Key Responsibilities

1 Responsible for planning and building a commercially viable range with support from buying function and Merchandiser. This should be supported by sales and product analysis whilst considering future trends. Recommendations should take into consideration your strong commercial awareness and topline business strategy.
2 Identify and implement key learns from previous season to optimise profit on the next season ranges.
3 Sign-off all buys with Merchandiser and Senior Management ensuring these are accurate with sufficient stock to cover the seasonal sales plans. Ensure all buys placed are within the agreed OTB restraints for the season.
4 Setting of seasonal and weekly budgets, forecasting and management of OTB for your areas.
5 Regular analysis of department performance, with a view to maximise sales opportunities. Proactively seek additional sales and profit opportunities.
6 Monitor and maintain margin in line with category KPIs.
7 Manage department WSSI’s to react to performance, manage risk and potentialise bestsellers.
8 Identify and suggest promotional activities to drive sales opportunities whilst mitigating risk to margin.
9 Manage the defined business strategy for all clearance stock, to ensure this is cleared in line with set targets and in the most profitable method.
10 Communicate departmental buys with Marketing and VM ensuring they have relevant information to support business.
11 Support Merchandiser/Senior Merchandiser with day to day running of the department.
12 Deputise in Merchandiser’s absence.
13 Management of an MAA, developing their skills and supporting their progress and development.
14 Challenge and improve processes with a view to create an efficient and collaborative working environment for the team.
